La Fortezza History:
"La Fortezza" S.p.A. was founded on 5th June1962 in Scarperia, Tuscany, starting as a manufacturer of shelving for the industry and offices.
After approximately 20 years of operation, they expanded our operation to include the manufacturing of shelving for the mid-large scale retail distribution industry strengthening both the company and its core business.
1985 saw the founding of a new Division with offices and plants in Forlimpopoli (FC): "La Fortezza Sintesi", which begun planning and manufacturing furnishing and overhead settings.
"La Fortezza Interni" (interiors) was founded in 1989, with offices and plants in Avellino, specialised in the manufacture of suspended ceilings, de-mountable partitioning and floating floors for office furnishings.
In 1991 Mobiltex was purchased, (a company that had been producing checkout counters since 1963) with offices and plant in Pianoro.
1999 saw the incorporation of "La Fortezza S" into the current "La Fortezza" SpA.
The year 2000 we began our strategic partnership with Plastimark, a company specialising in the manufacture of innovative shopping carts made from plastic materials.
Overseas expansion leads to even more interesting results 1995 "La Fortezza SudAmericana" is formed, with offices and plants in Argentina.
1997 "La Fortezza Asia" is founded in Malaysia.
2001 new adventures take off with "La Fortezza France" and "La Fortezza Middle East" in Dubai.
In order to increase the success obtained in the South American market which saw La Fortezza Sudamericana become one of the most important realities in South America, in 2006 the Group took over Duplo SA (also in Buenos Aires) and thus achieved leadership on Argentinean soil and a strengthened positioning within the continent.
La Fortezza Est, whose registered office is in Moscow (Russia), was established in 2006 with the intent to serve Eastern European markets, which over the last few years, have recorded significant growth.
Quality
During the course of its history, La Fortezza has achieved the highest quality standards in all planning, production and sales sectors of its activity. These results were obtained by combining the best technology with the know how of its highly-specialised technicians. In fact, these two elements have allowed it to pass the strictest conformity checks and therefore, to obtain Vision 2000 Quality Production certification (including ISO 9001:2000, EN ISO 9001:2000 and UNI EN ISO 9001:2000).

For La Fortezza, maintaining its European leadership in the field of retail shop fittings achieved over the last several years means continuously investing substantial resources in the technological development of new products. Added to this is its constant commitment to decreasing the timing necessary to provide personalised solutions. Given the specific requirements of every purchaser, its personnel is able to perform entire shop renovations very quickly, without in any way being an obstacle to the customer’s normal activities. This growing efficiency was obtained thanks to managing the materials used based on computerised management systems, which allow starting and finishing jobs without any setbacks.
This high level of quality achieved was also confirmed by the Italian Association of Steel Manufacturers CISI – ACAI Quality and Safety certification and, in 2006, by ISO 14001 certification.
