The Tegometall factories are equipped with the latest production facilities. The continuous process of product development and large scale production demand first class technology on all levels which also comply with the strictest standards of modern environmental production. The Tegometall painting department operates exclusively using solvent free powder lacquers, and the surface coating methods used are largely waste water free. All of Tegometalls operating and auxiliary materials are free of chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons, and the use of PVC foils has been completely discontinued.
Tegometall History
The initial tegometall concept was a shelving system for "everyman" - A plug in system using wall uprights and brackets. With this concept the success of Element System was sealed and cornered the DIY market. It was only a question of time until the shelving concept was developed to create a comprehensive shopfitting system. TEGOMETALL was born.
Tegometall Timeline
- 1954 - The company Rudolf Bohnacker is founded in Blaubeuren. The premises were rented and one worker was employed.
- 1959 - The first workshop owned by the company in Rottenacker.
- 1966 - The company Tegometall is founded in Krauchenweis.
- 1981 - Foreign subsidiaries join the group.
- 1986 - The company WMB Werkzeug- und Maschinenbau Bohnacker is founded in Rottenacre.
- 1989 - The upward trend continues, with a total staff of 1150 of whom 140 are trainees, a turnover of 230 million DM, land covering 365,000 m2 with buildings erected on 79,000 m2. The group produces an annual total of 75,000 tons of steel products.
Tegometall Shopfittings Today
Tegometall has 7 production and finishing plants in 5 countries equipped with state of the art automated processes including large scale press units with over 630 tons pressure, CAD supported laser press units, powder lacquering units and a rail connection right into the factory.
